+ January-February Update (04/02/2010 - 17:47:45)
+ Website Facelift! (13/01/2010 - 21:16:59)
Well howdy everyone!
Hope you are all well!
As you can see the website has been updated and given a new look, which hopefully you're all enjoying, along with a few new additions of work and a new menu set-up which SHOULD make it a bit easier to use. I figured by separating the elements of my work it would make it all that bit more clearer to see what is client work and what... well... isnt. Anywho, as for myself I am continuing the job hunt- keeping positive and more importantly learning from each interview as I go so with a bit of luck I'll be eventually snapped up by some lucky company! :D thats the plan anyhow.
Until then I'll continue producing artwork and putting it on here for all you faithful followers of stardustillustration to view! and if I dont then I give you permission to tell my mum...and if that doesnt work, well then you can slap me around the head with a Kipper.... Or whatever fish happens to be at hand at the time.
Tinned fish doesn't count.
Peace out!
x
Good news everyone stardustillustration has had a much needed facelift!
there isnt as much artwork on here as there was before (as I have ran out of webspace, but will hopefully be aquiring more in the next month) but dont worry as more work will be added soon! (hopefully)
Hope you all had an awesome christmas and an even better new year! There will be a few more posts in the coming weeks and more artwork to feast your eyes on so keep returning to check up on me! :D
peace out!
Hey guys and Gals!
Once again it comes to the blog update...I never know exactly what to put on here so ill start with an update on the work front:
Ok I have some illustrations coming up in October's issue of Paranormal Magazine which should be out towards the end of the month- the lovely people at the mag have allowed me to do some more monsters for them which is always awesome :) the mag can be bought from all good newsagents/ shops ect however if they fail to provide you with the UK's best magazine for paranormal activity it can also be purchased via their website here at:
As for the rest of the month I have mostly been hunting for that ever elusive illustration job, everyday sat at the laptop trawling through agencies and websites... however there is a bright side I have perfected my CV (i think) so now all I have to do is try it out! just need to stay positive.... Positive Mental Attitude :D
Right now to return to the hunt! mwhahahahahaha!
Peace.
Hey guys and gals,

I'm still job hunting at the mo so anyone need a freelancer please contact me! lol
Recently I have been working on werewolf designs, inspiration coming from the natural world and movies. Ive never really been able to draw them so I set myself the challenge of attempting to draw one with realistic biological limitations to the creatures transformation. I wont go into it too much but it challenges the way we traditionally 'see' werewolves. Ive been thinking mainly about the transformation process and what that would biologically entail, would the individual completely morph into a wolf or would it be a haphazard combination of human and wolf like elements?
I love drawing monsters....the possibilities are endless!
I thought I would just give you all a brief update on what I've been up to over the past few weeks/months....
St Agnes was awesome! went to all the favorite places as usual and even saw some dolphins for the first time in my life! wild ones too! how cool is that?! I felt so priviledged. The following day a seal even visited our little local beach which was also cool. The weather wasn't too bad either (for a change), in fact it got quite hot at one point we had to bring the BBQ out :D good times. mmm bacon on a BBQ is a gift from heaven.
Graduated back in July which was awesome the stress though! blimey. didn't know what was going on half the time, or where i had to be! But i made it in the end which is always good. Now I'm joining the 1,000,000 other graduates in looking for a job in this temperamental climate.
I think the best way to describe the job market at the moment is like a game of Jenga, there are blocks there but if companies keep pulling out of employing new recruits eventually the obvious is gonna happen. I went to a job agency last week, the people there were really friendly and helpful but they told me that market has just been crazy at the moment. They said that before they would have like 6 people applying for 1 job, now they have 40 people applying for 1 job! crazy! It makes people like us graduates a little nervous I must admit when veteran designers are being made redundant with god knows how many years of designing experience under their belt how are we supposed to compete? especially when no-one is willing to give you a chance! even those with a little experience are finding it hard, all I want is a job so I can start re-paying back my lone. If its in the creative industry then thats a bonus but its hard to even get past the application stage for something like a receptionist job, especially when all you hear is 'I'm sorry but you don't have enough experience'.
All i can say to them is....
In the infamous words of Abba : 'Take a chance on me...'
